Family Fun is one of the
best ways to encourage writing. If you don’t like to write, go to Fossil
Rim, take pictures then go home and write. Write about what the animals thought
as you drove through the park. Or describe what you saw…don’t list
what you saw, show it. Here’s an example.
A long necked emu blinked her big eyes and grabbed a food pellet out of my cup. Then she dropped it on the ground and grabbed another and another. Then she snatched all the pellet off the floor of the jeep.
“Mr. Kelley, I don’t think she like these,”
I said.
“Oh, she likes them. She’s just smart
enough to knows the more she grabs and drops now the more she can eat later.”
Then I think I saw the emu grin.
